Encryption & Data Protection

Your data is protected using industry-leading encryption standards:

Data at Rest

All stored data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption, the same standard used by banks and government agencies. Even if someone gained physical access to our servers, your data would be unreadable.

Data in Transit

Every connection between your device and our servers uses TLS 1.3, the latest and most secure transport protocol available. This prevents anyone from intercepting your data as it travels across the internet.

User Data Isolation

Each user's data is logically segmented and isolated at the database level. Strict access controls ensure that your financial information can never be accessed by or exposed to other users, even in the unlikely event of a software defect.

Data Residency & Infrastructure

Your financial data never leaves US borders:

US-Only Datacenters

All MyMoneyTrends data is stored exclusively in datacenters located within the United States. We do not replicate, backup, or process data in any other country.

Isolated Infrastructure

Your data is stored in a dedicated, isolated environment with strict network security rules that prevent unauthorized access.

Redundancy Without Compromise

While we maintain redundant backups for disaster recovery, all backup locations are also within the United States and subject to the same encryption standards.

No Bank Credentials Stored

We never see, store, or have access to your bank login credentials:

Plaid Integration

When you connect accounts, we use Plaid—a trusted financial data aggregator used by thousands of apps. You authenticate directly with your bank through Plaid's secure interface.

Token-Based Access

We only receive secure access tokens, never your username or password. These tokens can be revoked at any time from your MyMoneyTrends settings or your bank.

Read-Only Access

Connected accounts are read-only. We can view transactions and balances but cannot move money, make payments, or modify your accounts in any way.

Your Data, Your Control

We believe you own your data and should control what happens to it:

No Data Sales

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal financial data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Period.

Transparent Usage

We only use your data to provide and improve the MyMoneyTrends service. Any analytics we perform are aggregated and anonymized.

Data Export

You can export all your data at any time in standard formats (CSV, JSON). Your data belongs to you.

Data Deletion

Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. We honor deletion requests within 30 days and purge data from all systems including backups.

Employee access to production systems is strictly limited, logged, and regularly audited. We follow the principle of least privilege.
